Exilic composer and conductor, Maestro Roman Toi, makes Estonian choral music the driving force of a global Estonian cultural awakening that impacts the restoration of the Republic of Estonia after a nearly five decades long Soviet occupation.

Kalli Paakspuu
is an award winning filmmaker, writer, educator, new media and theatre artist. An alumna of the Canadian Film Centre’s Interactive Art and Entertainment programme, she created “World Without Water”, a public installation curated into an international exhibition of interactive arts at Code LIVE, Cultural Olympiad, Vancouver, 2010. After studying film production at U.B.C., her doctoral dissertation at the University of Toronto traced the shifting rhetorics in portraits, illustrations and photography as political forces impacted, enabled or disabled cultural mediation between Settler and Indigenous peoples. She is programme director of EstDocs Film Festival.
