Boutheyna Bouslama (Tunisia) – WHEN I GROW UP, 2015, 6:00
One shot filmed encounter with two syrian children, refugees in Turkey. Met in the martyr cemetery of the village of Soruç, they were assisting at a funeral of 8 civilians killed by ISIS (Islamic State) in the near syrian Kobané. Speaking easily in front of a Camera, they answer the question: What do you want to be when you grow up ?

Boutheyna Bouslama
Born in Paris from Tunisian parents in 1982, Boutheyna Bouslama is a filmmaker and a visual artist who lives and works between Istanbul, Paris and Geneva. In 2010 she graduated from the Geneva Art and Design schools with a double major Masters: Visual Arts and Cinema. She later worked there as a teaching assistant / lecturer in the Visual Arts department. Her main topics are based on personal archives and experiences creating collective memory, always reflective on the current society.
Her work in Istanbul focuses on documentary photography and videos, including her first long length documentary film, between Syria and Turkey.
