The producer and director Sebastian Weimann studied communication in Kassel, media design in Bielefeld and film production in Ludwigsburg. Since 2002 he is a filmmaker, self-employed since 2007 and since 2011 lecturer for “Film in Social Work”. Sebastian has been working with refugees on their film ideas since 2016.

In the film Salah tells of the unimaginable experiences on 3 August 2014, when IS fighters have committed a massacre of the Jeside. In self-painted pictures, the director (and at the same time protagonist) tries to capture the experiences and get over them. Above all the fate of his 107-year-old grandfather is the focus of Salah’s memories.
